ORGANIZED CONFUSION.

Working from home sometimes has its advantages… Even tho I have a studio and factory to work in sometimes working from home allows me to think differently… If I’m sitting around my friends and associates my mindset is different. Visually I think of various patterns designs and even listen to different music. I ask the artists to draw different things. I call different people. Its crazy when I think about it. At home my daughter is always trying to give me stuff to hang on my office wall. The two 100+pound Cane Corso’s are at my feet leaving droll on my sneakers..The reminder of bills and organized confusion sets in. But its healthy. So who knows…. My 5 year old has her own digital camera, she asked me to take these pictures while i was working on sending out samples.. She’s so funny.

Gabriel Urist X The Old NY Way

When i first found out from my homeboy DUTCH whose the illest paparazzi in NYC that we were going to be doing the RAEKWON photo shoot at Gabriel Urist’s studio I instantly put name and face and Art together. I’ve been following his one of a kind career for a while now. The collaboration’s Gabriel has done many of us can only wish we had the opportunity to touch. Getting to his studio was a mission at first time but driving threw Brooklyn can have its advantages. Gabriel’s talent to detail and obsession with sports, sneakers, music and designing comes out in his unstoppable work. I don’t know the levels of jeweler hierarchy but I’m sure his a master. I’ve sat on a design idea for years before actually wanting to dive into it. I told Gabriel about it and right away we started making shit happen. When I was a kid my Uncle had a few set of real brass knuckles and lead knuckles for his personal safety. growing up a teenager in 80’s in the Bronx was no treat. My obsession with over the top accessories and strange life style basically came out in the design of the Rings and Chain. Iron Crosses, Four leaf clovers. Skulls, city skyline, incredible weight and the whole thing is solid. Gabriel really came out on top in the design and his wax carvings were spot on first time around. Both of our attention for detail but laid back style really made the Problem Solvers come alive. There heavy too. Weighing in at almost 2pounds of .925 sterling silver. The Problem Solvers are intense and solid. A real piece of Art. Thanks Gabe.

So I hit up, whats to be acclaimed as the next Jason film, “The Collector”. From the writers of Saw most would expect an intense seat clenching film but, despite the twisted nature of the gory film, the constraints of the home made for a very repetitive film. So aspects also leave viewers with more confusion than fear. I do say that everyone should go see it just to have your own opinion.
